Debbie Swail (Mrs. Swail)
Director
Debbie Swail holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from San Jose State University and has 32 years of hands-on classroom experience teaching children ages 2 through 5 in play-based programs. Debbie expanded her role from teacher to owner and director when she took over the preschool in 2014. Blessed with the gift of emotional intelligence, she seeks to deeply understand the needs of each child and parent and is very aware that one size does not fit all. This has been helpful in creating a program built on mutual trust and integrity as she has been charged with the safety and well-being of each precious young person who comes to preschool each day. Together with her team of amazing teachers, Debbie takes pride in providing families and their children a loving and developmentally appropriate place to send their children to learn.
Her favorite place to be when she is not running the preschool is at home with her husband, two children, Black Lab and Guinea pig. In her opinion, traveling, eating wonderful food, spending time with friends and family, gardening, or engaging in anything creative is time well spent.
Debbie looks forward each day to serving the community with an exemplary preschool program that parents and children alike have loved for many years.
Anabell Moreno (Mrs. Moreno)
Teacher
Always quick with a smile and a hug, Mrs Moreno has a huge heart for children! She earned her early childhood education certificate from De Anza College in 2003 and was a nanny before that. Mrs Moreno’s favorite part of the day is one-on-one time where she can meet each child and help them with their struggles and successes. She has studied several phonics-based programs to create her own unique system that prepares our students for kindergarten. Helping kids love literature and teaching them some of her native Spanish are also special parts of Mrs Moreno’s classroom. The children love her warm and silly ways.
Teresa Moreno (Miss Teresa)
Teacher
Teresa Moreno has been teaching preschool for over twenty years, plus time as a nanny. She has worked with all ages of preschool children and knows how to modify her program to fit each group. Ms. Teresa is very warm and patient. She knows that social/emotional development is just as important as academic learning. You will often see bean bags, scarves, or rhythm sticks during her music and movement time. Ms. Teresa is also the queen of amazing and creative art activities for her class. Children can’t wait to see all of the fun learning she has planned for their day.
Marcy Bates (Ms. Marcy)
Teacher
Marcy has over 30 years experience working with young children. She originally went to college to study elementary education, but quickly learned that early childhood education was her passion. Because of her years of experience, Ms. Marcy loves to help parents discover just the right tools to meet their unique child. Ms. Marcy tries to follow her students interests and truly values giving kids the freedom to play and explore which is vital to their academic and social emotional growth. She loves to learn right along with her students, especially when it comes to science. Whether it’s erupting volcanoes, building models of a spine, or cracking open geodes, Ms. Marcy encourages kids to expand their knowledge in fun and memorable ways.
